Christmas in July

Jubilee Banquet Facility decorated at Christmas
While some are planning their summer vacations, smart and budget-conscious people are planning their company holiday parties.
In recent years, the state of the economy has been reflected by a company’s holiday gatherings. As the economy slowly recovers, trends show that management is still taking the conservative approach when it comes to office parties. The goal is to strike the perfect balance of controlling expenditures while supporting the desire for fun.
And, Jubilee Banquet Facility wants to help. If a Christmas party is booked during the month of July, companies can receive a $75 discount off the fee for Jubilee Hall, $50 discount off the fee for 1/2 of Jubilee Hall, or a $30 discount off the room fee of the Blue Room.
Jubilee Hall can accommodate 250 guests and the Blue Room is perfect for an intimate gathering of 40 people.
When planning the office holiday party, there are other cost cutting measures. Consider a dessert station which allows for smaller portions, rather than serving full slices of cake. Serving seasonal fruits and vegetables is a smart and delicious cost saver. Another budget-friendly idea is to hire a DJ rather than a band.
More suggestions include hosting a business casual dinner, rather than suit and tie affair. This gives you more flexibility when planning the menu options. Another suggestion for slicing the menu budget is to host a holiday luncheon rather than dinner. Not only will this save money on the menu, but it will also decrease the head count by eliminating employee guests and family members.
Jubilee Banquet Facility will help you host the perfect company Christmas party that the staff and your wallet will love. Contact Jubilee today to discover your options, 865-938-2112.

Here at Jubilee we had a phenomenal Christmas season with lots of repeat clients and many new one joining us to celebrate the holidays. We had so many who wanted to celebrate with the company, yet make it a family gathering as well that we had a revelation…why not let them celebrate with a wonderful meal and gift time then let the children be supervised for some play time in the gym as the adults continue to visit and mingle in the main hall! It turned out to be the best of both worlds and what a time we had!

Several Jubilee Banquet Facility team members enjoy snowboarding
It takes a group effort to host our clients’ events and we have an amazing team in place that takes care of both the ‘front of the house’ and ‘back of the house’ responsibilities.
The ‘back of the house’ team handles everything kitchen-related, like doing prep-work, cooking the menu and cleaning the dishes and kitchen. Our ‘back’ team is Greg, who enjoys gardening and remodeling; Ben, who is an avid snowboarder; and Brandon, who is our resident beer connoisseur.
The ‘front of the house’ team sets up the party rooms, serve guests throughout the event and breaks down the event once the guests leave. Our ‘front’ team is Matt C., who loves snowboarding, soccer, poker and working out; Matt B., who races motorcycles and likes to snowboard; Molly, who likes soccer, snowboarding and running; Grant, who loves to hunt and play soccer; Brett, who likes to play poker; Brittany, who is a closet book nerd and loves to shop; Allison, who likes tanning and dancing; Gretchen, who coaches track and field; Rachel, who likes reading, going to the lake, loves UT sports and church-league basketball; Kaylin, who loves soccer and dancing; and Sharon, who loves photography, fishing and poetry.

Before shopping, determine your budget. It’s heartbreaking to fall in love with a dress and then discover it exceeds your budget.
Determine the look that you want to achieve. This is where research comes into play. Look online and in stores to see which styles look chic, classy, girlie or trendy.
Learn what style suits you. A trusted friend or relative can help you determine your prom dress style. Bring a friend who will won’t be afraid to tell you the truth. Is the dress flattering and does it suit your personality?
Find the dress with the right fit. You can wear the most stylish dress in the world but spoil the look if you spend the entire evening tugging and pulling at it. Also, comfort is important, especially if you plan on dancing the night away.

Knox Photo Fusion jewelry
The definition of ‘fusion’ is the merging of different elements into a union. Vicky Baptist, of Knox Photo Fusion has successfully merged her love of photography into beautiful works of wearable art.
Vicky began her Photo Fusion endeavor three years ago. A long-time children’s photographer, she said her goal was to be working in artistic photography. It was when she saw painted jewelry that she thought, “I wonder if you could use photographs?”
After a year of trial and error, Vicky was able to integrate her artistic photographs with jewelry. All the photographs used to create the jewelry are things that Vicky has taken pictures of.
“People like to guess what it is and they want to know the story behind it,” Vicky said. For example, when she created the breast cancer awareness design last year, she photographed pink impatiens. She said she used impatiens because of their resilience and their symbolic renewal of spring.
Vicky can also do custom jewelry work. Customers bring in a photos and Vicky works magic to re-size, re-shape, crop and Photoshop the pictures to create ornaments, earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, cufflinks, wine tags, key chains, barrettes, headbands, pet collar charms and bookmarks.

Knox Photo Fusion custom pieces
Looking for unique bridesmaid gifts or keepsakes? Do you want your company logo on something timeless? Knox Photo Fusion has done it all. “We have something for everybody,” Vicky said.
For more information, visit knoxphotofusion.com. Also, you can visit Vicki at the Farmers Market at Market Square on Saturdays through November 20th or at Christmas in the City at Market Square on December 4, 11 and 18.
We love Vicky’s work so much that we’re offering an opportunity for a free piece of jewelry. Book an event for February or September at Jubilee Banquet Facility and you will receive a piece of Vicky’s art.
